2019 Meeting Dates

The upcoming 2019 Meetings will be held at the White Settlement Senior Center, 8211 White Settlement Road.
Meetings begin at 1:30 p.m. with a short business session, followed by a guest speaker or program, refreshments and conclusion about 3:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
 
Memberships are available for $10 Annual Individual and $15 Annual Family. Your application for membership will be voted on at the next Historical Society meeting.

2019 Meeting Schedule

Saturday March 23: Program: An Update on Thompson Public Cemetery ~ What is known about construction on the site surrounding the cemetery, Texas Historical Marker Application In Progress Elect a 5-member Nominating Committee to seek new officers for the upcoming Annual Meeting on May 11th, Positions currently vacant: First Vice President (Programs), Historian/Archivist, Parlimentiarian, Report and Hospitality. Vote to accept Barbara Donaldson and Greg, Sara and Lilly Rogers as new members of our Historical Society. Does any member have a BHS student in the family graduating this Spring who might like to be considered for the $500 Scholarship? Reminder to renew your dues - $10 Single, $15 Family or group. Our dues help fund the scholarship offered each year. Refreshments will be provided.

Saturday, May 11: 45th Annual Meeting and Election of Officers
A short business meeting will be held first to discuss Society matters. New officers for 2019-20 will be elected. Program: Samantha Petty, Executive Director of USS Fort Worth Support Committee, will present an audio-visual program on the USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) Freedom Class Littoral Combat Ship. Bring a "Fun in the Sun" care package item for the next support mailing going out to the crew (i.e.: sunscreen, lip balm, beef jerky, etc.)
Reminder to renew your membership. Dues help fund our membership affiliated annual Brewer High School Graduate $500 Scholarship.

Saturday, September 14 Guest Speaker: Paul C. Bettes will speak on "The Bettes Family of White Settlement." The scheduled guest speaker will be unable to attend the September meeting.
